The Way Out Recovery SCV Hour – Domestic Violence w/Linda Davies – January 22, 2018
On this episode of The Way Out Recovery SCV Hour, Host Bob Sharits is joined in studio by Linda Davies from the Domestic Violence Services of the Child and Family Center to talk about The Women’s March, Gender Inequality, and how drug and substance abuse can help fuel domestic violence.
Domestic Violence is everywhere, Linda said. It is a huge issue that is in every economic level, city, neighborhood and we wanted a place that people know they can go to to be safe and get assistance.
"The community has been really supportive," Linda said. "We have been able to provide a lot of education, classes and assistance these past six years."
Previous Episode: College of the Canyons Student Health And Wellness Center w/Larry Schallert - The Way Out Recovery Hour – January 15, 2018
A lot of the times the domestic abuse is about control and having control over someone, Bob said. And the police cannot step in, not because they don't want or anything like that but because no crime has technically occurred. This is where the Domestic Violence Services of the Child and Family Center can provide the assistance.
